Caño Island had its place as one of the best diving sites in Costa Rica. This marine protected area is a haven for the region’s most diverse undersea ecosystems. Glide alongside gracefully moving sea turtles or white-tip reef sharks while discovering these beautiful waters. This is the best place to experience scuba diving without much current and under optimal conditions all year round. Whether you are looking for an adventure or want to plunge into nature, this diving experience will yield memories that last a lifetime!
The tour typically begins at 6:45 AM with a return around 2:00 to 3:00 PM, depending on ocean conditions.
This tour is designed for those with scuba diving certification. However, we also offer a Discover Scuba Diving experience for those who want to try scuba diving for the first time.
All basic necessary diving equipment is included in the price of the trip. Not included in the price is a dive computer, which can be rented from a dive center for an additional fee. Of course, you can bring personal items with you, such as a waterproof camera or a towel. Remember, however, that space on the boat is limited and all items may get wet due to weather conditions.
Participants must be at least 10 years old. There’s no upper age limit, but a moderate fitness level is recommended to ensure a comfortable experience. The tour is not suitable for pregnant women.
Isla del Caño, noted for its marine biodiversity, offers divers sightings of turtles, reef sharks, manta rays, and a diversity of tropical fish swimming among the beautiful coral formations. But be reminded this is a natural habitat, not a theme park of sorts. Hence, climate as well as sea conditions can be very unpredictable. The same goes for the visibility underwater and for the animals that come into view.
